One moment, he's arguing with his girlfriend, Nevaeh. The next, she's gone. Vanished into a storm of his making. A DeLorean. A violent storm. A local policeman arriving with the terrible news. Rick's worst fear becomes fact. And from there, the story stays close to the wreckage inside him. The guilt. The second-guessing. The need to keep hearing her voice even if it means keeping her phone just so he can hear the voicemail greeting. There is something so achingly human in that refusal to let go.
